Dude, isn't this concept of "soft addictions" amazing. This is the what I got out of it. About anything that you do: Would you want to go on Oprah and tell the world that you do it? Would you want to see your children doing it?
For me: No, I wouldnt want to go on Oprah and tell the world I eat marble loaf cake from Starbucks every morn. Made me quit in one day flat!
Another way to look at this is: humans, and indeed all mammals, are creatures of habit and we enjoy doing things that we've already discovered we enjoy doing. And then doing them again. The implied lesson of this article is what? That we should never do the same thing twice? Is having sex with your partner a soft habit? Is eating breakfast a soft habit? Of course those are straw man points, but this article seems to just vaguely, even arbitrarily, determine that some things we do with regularity are by nature bad, where others are okay. The result is feeling guilty for doing nothing wrong.
Soft addictions....has this become a confessional? If so, then mine might just include Keith Olberman, John Stewart, milk chocolate, my latest obsession with the show "House," and a secret crush on Kai Rysdall from "Marketplace" -- if only for his smart, lovely voice and sense of humor. I've finally set aside the John Harwood thang...
We have needed sane gun laws for decades. Each of us is less safe because of the NRA and if the rest of us and our leaders don't stand up to them now we never will. - Trey Ellis (Huffington Post)

Try it!
This is so interesting. I guess the mere fact that we are on the internet blogging may mean we are partly addicted?
I think this idea totally applies to me. Will I change? Probably not, but at least I feel bad about it!
